Dr. Ashok Kharel is a Senior Consultant in Surgery at ADK Hospital with over a decade of experience in the management of complex emergency and elective surgical conditions. He completed his MBBS and MS in General Surgery at Maharajgunj Medical Campus, Nepal, and has developed extensive expertise in advanced general and minimally invasive surgery through his clinical practice in Nepal and the Maldives.

Prior to joining ADK Hospital, Dr. Kharel served as a Consultant Surgeon at Addu Equatorial Hospital, where he played a key role in establishing a comprehensive laparoscopic surgery programme, introducing advanced minimally invasive surgical techniques to the region. He has a strong interest in gastrointestinal surgery, trauma care, and minimally invasive proctology. With Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification and specialised training in minimally invasive surgical techniques, Dr. Kharel is committed to providing safe, evidence-based, and patient-centred surgical care while continually advancing surgical excellence.
