News Brief: Speed Boat Accident - December 2, 2012

Eight patients with varying injuries were brought to ADK Hospital for treatment due to the unfortunate speed boat accident this evening. The Emergency Department at ADK Hospital has treated these patients and is currently investigating the severity of injuries of two (2) patients who suffered severe injuries. All patients are locals.

Among the eight patients brought to the Hospital, all are adults. Four males and four females. Two patients were treated on OPD basis and six treated at the Emergency Department.

At present, 2 severly injured patients, one male and one female are being treated and invetigations are being conducted for the extent of injuries. One patient (male) is reported to have multiple fractures of the cheek bone and one (female) patient is reported as having a possible fracture of the fore head. 

Six patients are being kept for further observation at the hospital. They are in a stable condition.

UPDATE: 2300hrs

An additional 3 pateints were brought to the hospital later with minor injuries. All of them were treated on outpatient basis.

The Employee of the Year 2023 award was won by Ms. Seema Mohamed, Coordinator – Clinical Support Service, who received MVR. 15,000 cash prize and 5-nights holiday package for 2 people to experience the wonders of a Wild Life Safari in Kenya.
