The DANGERS of Antibiotic Resistance

Every day we hear reports of new strains of deadly viruses, bacteria and fungal infections that claims the lives of unsuspecting people all over the world. And researchers, scientists, healthcare providers with the help of government and pharmaceutical companies all scramble against time to find the most effective cure.
 

Dhonkaleyfaanu Cup 2012

Dhonkalyfaanu Cup, the annual intercompany futsal tournament of ADK Group of Companies was held from 2 – 3 November 2012. It was a great atmosphere and a lot of friendly and healthy rivalries. This year a total of 14 teams, 8 in the men’s category and 6 in the women’s category participated.
 

Fire Safety

The Hospital staff started a fire safety-training program this November. This program is conducted in collaboration with the Maldives national Defense Force’s Fire and Rescue Department. The aim of this program is to ensure that staff working at the Hospital is aware of recognizing the different types of potential fire and also to understand how to extinguish such fires in case of an incident.
 

Healthcare Leadership Award 2012

ADK Hospital has received the Healthcare Leadership Award 2012 for outstanding contribution in promoting inclusive healthcare. A Civil Society Group called Knowledge Resource Development and Welfare Group gave this award. The ceremony was held this afternoon in New Delhi, India. The Managing Director of the Hospital, Mr. Ahmed Afaal, received the award.
 

Le pique-nique

After a break, the annual staff picnic is back. This year close to 200 staff from the ADK Group of companies participated. The picnic was held in K. Kudavillingili with a number of highlights. The early morning departure and the late evening arrival were filled with fun, laughter, friendship, sports and a lot of happiness in between.
 

Neurology and Psychiatry Services

ADK Hospital has recently initiated services in Neurology and Psychiatry. These two specialties have not been readily available in the country and whenever it was available had a number of limitations. In an effort to provide these services, for which there is a dire need, the Hospital in the last few months have worked extensively to recruit suitable professionals to serve the Maldivian population in these areas.
 

Disease Advisory - Seasonal Flu and Flu-like Illness

In recent weeks patients presenting to our out patient department and emergency department with Acute Respiratory Infections (ARI) have increased. Of these a small but significant number have been diagnosed with Seasonal Flu (Influenza A & B) and Flu-like illness.

  • Celebrating Nurses Day Events 2024

    May 12, 2024 - Nurses day events every year is held to honor the dedication and hard work of nurses around the world. We, at ADK hospital, began the celebration of nurses’ week with a healthy home-made breakfast on 6th May 2024. Invitees from all the departments of the hospital took part in this event. The essence of the event was to uplift the spirit of inclusivity, appreciate nurses and their contributions while fostering a sense of community and well being within the nursing profession.

  • Celebrating Excellence: Highlights from the 11th Employee Performance Awards at ADK Hospital

    December 9, 2023 - ADK Hospital celebrated Annual Employee Performance Awards (EPA) at Ghiyasuddin International School. The Employee of the Year 2023 award was won by Ms. Seema Mohamed, Coordinator – Clinical Support Service, who received MVR. 15,000 cash prize and 5-nights holiday package for 2 people to experience the wonders of a Wild Life Safari in Kenya.
